Thank you for sending me these photos (1-4 photos taken by Gediminas Kartanas), Aurelija Seilienė, from the bone china porcelain exhibition “Only Porcelain.” This exhibition runs until January 12th, 2025, at the Panevėžys Civic Art Gallery in Lithuania.
I was fortunate to attend the Kaunas Bone China Symposium in 2020, where I created a wall piece titled Fingerprints (45 x 45 x 5 cm). Incorporating gold clusters, I used my fingers to create a visual language that explores my personal identity. I challenged myself to use bone china to form a circular shape, expressing my feelings of living 'in-between' two countries: the UK and Taiwan.
Another piece I created is a sculpture titled Sustainability Landscape. This work combines mold-making and handmade techniques and features bone china, 24-carat gold leaf, recycled plastic material, plaster, and ceramic digital prints. Through these three sculptures, I explored the relationships between different materials and reflected on how I can contribute to caring for our planet through my artistic process.
I am deeply grateful for the wonderful opportunities I’ve had in Lithuania.
